Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett, a distinguished winner of the  Golden Globe and Emmy Awards, has vividly portrayed such notable figures as Tina Turner and Rosa Parks in leading cinematic roles.  When she was pursuing her degree at Yale, her aunt warned her not to waste her education on theater, yet she chose to earn a Masters in Fine Art anyway.  Ms. Bassett readily acknowledges her Christian faith when she said: "When you realize that every breath is a gift for God.  When you realize how small you are, but how much he loved you.  That he, Jesus would die, the son of God himself on earth, then you... you just weep."
