Brock Purdy

Brock Purdy is an American professional football quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. As the middle child, his father, who played Minor League Baseball for 8 seasons, and his siblings who both play collegiate sports influenced his athlete upbringing. However, Purdy's path to success was not always clear cut. As a talented Arizona quarterback in high school, he led his team to team to multiple state championships, yet he was considered a low-priority recruit in college. He surprised many when he became a starting quarterback as a freshman at Iowa State, when he set numerous records during his collegiate career. Upon graduation in 2022, Purdy became that years "Mr. Irrelevant" as the last pick as the final selection by the 49ers in the NFL draft. Defying expectations once again, Purdy became their starting quarterback and led the team to an appearance in Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. However, Purdy defines his identity beyond football success when he said: "The bottom line, my identity is in Jesus"..."I put my faith and trust in Him and He’s gotten me where I’m at."...“God is faithful,” Purdy said. “He’s never done with a story, even when you think he is.” It will be fascinating to follow Brock Purdy and the roles he choses to play both in his sports career and Christian Story.
