Carrie Underwood is one of the most popular female artists having sold 70 million records worldwide, including one of her most popular songs "Jesus Take The Wheel". Carrie holds the title of the most awarded country artist of all time having received 8 Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 16 academy of Country Music Awards among many, many others. Born the youngest of three sisters, she was raised on a farm in Oklahoma. Carrie attempted to jump start her vocal career at the age of 14 in an audition with Capital records which ended in failure. Regardless, she remained active thru high school participating in sports and cheerleading. Later on, she graduated magna cum laude from Northeaster State University with a degree in mass communication. Her musical breakthrough began with her audition on American Idol in 2004, which ultimately lead to the release of her debut single in 2005. Carrie's passion in life extends beyond music to include her Christian faith: "If I can convince others that there is a God, and that they need to know Him, then I did my job."
