Charles Glover Barkla (Nobel)

Charles Glover Barkla, a British physicist, won a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1917 for his work in X-ray spectroscopy, a critical tool used in material characterization. Barkla, a deeply religious Christian, saw a profound connection between his scientific endeavors and his faith expressed as follows: "To lovers of truth and righteousness, the pursuit of scientific investigation is a part of the quest for God, the Creator."
