Charles M. Schultz

Back to all People
Schultz was the creator of the popular comic strip Peanuts, which features iconic characters such as Charlie Brown and Snoopy. He started drawing at an early age and was drafted at the end of WWII serving briefly in Europe. Upon returning home, Shultz turned his passion for drawing into a profession and within just 2 years had 17 of his drawings published in the Saturday Evening Post. Peanuts debuted in 1950, eventually under distribution by 2,600 papers in 75 countries. Schultz converted to Christianity after returning from WW II and became a voracious reader of theological commentary, marking up the margins of his Bible with notes. Whether reading the Peanuts comic strip or watching his cartoons, we can clearly observe the finger prints of his Christian beliefs.
