G. K. Chesterton, an English writer, philosopher and Christian apologist, wrote about 80 books, several hundred poems, 200 short stories including such enduring works as Orthodoxy and The Everlasting Man. At the peak of his popularity, Chesterton regularly delivered 40 radio talks per year on the BBC, captivating audiences with his formidable presence, both in person and over the airwaves. Note: He stood at 6 feet 4 inches tall weighing 280 pounds. He often referred to himself as an orthodox Christian, but later converted to Roman Catholicism. His writings are celebrated for their wit, humor, and frequent use of paradox, as illustrated by one of his memorable quotes: "Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car."
