Gary Busey

Gary Busey, the American actor known for his eccentric personality, has appeared in over 150 films having staring roles in such box office hits as the Buddy Holly Story, A Star Is Born and Lethal Weapon. Born in Texas but raised in Oklahoma, he began his college days on a football scholarship before transferring to Oklahoma State University where he developed an interest in acting. However, he left the university just one class short of graduation. He began his entertainment career as a drummer , later transitioning to acting. His big break came playing the role of Buddy Holly in "The Buddy Holly Story". In 1988, Busey suffered a near-fatal motorcycle accident leaving him with a severe brain injury, profoundly affecting his personality and leading to his struggle with substance abuse. Adding to his life's challenges, he was forced to file for bankruptcy in 2012. Through all the battles he's been through in life, Gary Busey has found the power in his Christian faith: "I am proud to tell Hollywood that I am a Christian.
