George Patton

George Patton is a infamous Four Star U.S. Army General during WW II. He was born into a an affluent family in California, attending private schools. Despite his early learning disabilities which he largely overcame, he become an avid reader. However, he still struggled at West Point having to repeat mathematics and graduated in the middle ranking of his class. Patton's sister Nina was temporarily engaged to John J. Pershing, an infamous WW I U.S. Army officer, whom Patton later considered a mentor throughout his career. While he could be formidable on the battlefield, he was also known for demonstrating compassion for captured enemy soldiers. Patton was also recognized for his regular reading and praying with his Bible. He said: "Urge all of your men to pray, not alone in church, but everywhere. Pray when driving. Pray when fighting. Pray alone. Pray with others. Pray by night and pray by day."
