Dr. Gerhard Ertl, a respected German physicist, made significant contributions to the field of modern surface chemistry. His research has provided valuable insights into the process by which fuel cells generate energy without causing pollution and how catalytic converters reduce car emissions. He received his PhD from the Technical University of Munich in 1965 and was awarded the 2007 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Dr. Ertl considers himself both a scientist and a Christian: "I believe in God. I am a Christian and I try to live as a Christian. I read the Bible very often and I try to understand it."
