Joanne Rowling is known best by her pen name J. K Rowling, a British author and philanthropist , who wrote Harry Potter, a children's fantasy series. Her books have sold over 600 million copies and have been translated into 84 languages. Her writings eventually grew into a global enterprise including film and video games which have grown into a global phenomenon. Despite facing numerous personal and financial struggles in her life, J. K. Rowling finally achieved remarkable success with her Harry Potter book series. Rowling, a self-proclaimed Christian, has been somewhat reticent about publicly discussing her faith due to complaints of basing her fantasy writings on key Christian Biblical concepts such as parallels with the death and resurrection of Jesus. During several interviews, Rowling confesses to grappling with her own doubts and uncertainty, and is often living in a state of spiritual flux. Possibly, her introspective stance evokes similarities to comments made by renowned evangelical preacher Billy Graham about his own spiritual journey.
