John Bannister Goodenough (PhD, Nobel)

Dr. Bannister Goodenough, an American materials science and solid-state physicist, was a co-recipient of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and is credited with the identification and development of the lithium-ion battery. After serving in the U.S. Army as a meteorologist in World War II, Goodenough was later awarded a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago in 1952. He is a committed Christian.
