Jonathan Vincent Voight, an American actor, has earned numerous accolades including an Academy Award, four Golden Globe awards as well as four Primetime Emmy Awards with his films grossing more than $5.2 billion worldwide. He was born into a New York family in which his father was a professional golfer and his grandparents emigrated from Germany and Slovakia. In high school, he developed an interest in acting, later earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Catholic University of America. His acting career took off after he played the role of Joe Buck in "Midnight Cowboy" alongside Dustin Hoffman as Ratso Rizzo. He later earned an Academy Award for Best Actor for portraying a paraplegic Vietnam veteran in "Coming Home". In his later years, during a period marked by personal challenges and a drift away from his deep religious roots, Jon experienced a profound spiritual awakening when he audibly heard a voice saying, "It's supposed to be difficult," which he interpreted as divine communication. This experience prompted a significant shift in his life, leading him to reaffirm his Christian faith when he said: " My dad was a very righteous man, my mother and I've had many good people in my life. I just got off track a little bit and I realized it at that time. So I worked since then to be a better fellow." ... "As Christians, we have the great guidance of Jesus and His help from above. That’s all real, and it’s what gives us hope to become our greater selves. "Can a successful but imperfect Christian actor, exhibiting bouts of infidelity with multiple marriages and a strained relationship with his famous daughter, properly redefine his role to play in the Christian Story?
