Back to all People
Dr. Max Born, a German scientist who won the Nobel Prize in 1954, made significant contributions in the field of quantum mechanics. Max Born, a Jewish professor at the University of Gottingen, was one of six Jewish faculty members suspended in 1933 when the German Nazi Party came into power. He subsequently immigrated to the United Kingdom . He apparently had a unique relationship with God and believed science and God could co-exist: "Those who say that the study of science makes a man an atheist, must be rather silly people." ...(God) does not leave me without direction but he talks to me differently."
