Back to all People
Michael Faraday, a prominent 19th century Physicist, is recognized for his contributions to the field of electromagnetism. The unit of electrical capacitance, known as the farad, was so named in his honor as a testament of his groundbreaking work in the measurement of the electric charge. Faraday also played a key role in establishing the electrical terminology we still use today, introducing the concepts such as the "cathode" and "anode". Albert Einstein, one of the world's most eminent physicists, so deeply respected Faraday that he displayed Faraday's picture on his study wall. Another renowned Physicist Ernest Rutherford once proclaimed, "... there is no honor too great to pay to the memory of Faraday, one of the greatest scientific discoverers of all time." Faraday was a Christian who stated: "The book of nature which we have read is written by the finger of God."
