Shia Saide LaBeouf launched his acting career in 2001 with the Disney Channel, and later rose to prominence with his significant role in the box office hit Transformers (2011). He was raised with a diverse religious background being influenced both by his Jewish mother and Cajun French Christian father. His father, a Vietnam veteran, struggled with alcoholism, and was at one point addicted to heroin. During his filming of Fury in 2014, LeBeouf "found God". His exploration of Christianity led him to embrace Catholicism in 2022 while studying for a role along with Catholic Capuchin Friars for a movie about Padre Pio ( a priest, mystic and saint). Several factors influenced his decision: "It was seeing other people who have sinned beyond anything I could ever conceptualize also being found in Christ that made me feel like, 'Oh, that gives me hope,...I started hearing experiences of other depraved people who had found their way in this, and it made me feel like I had permission." You can read more about murders who later were forgiven and actually became contributors to the Capuchins under the "Criminals" section of "100" Christians.
