St. Anthony

St. Anthony was born into a wealthy family in Portugal during the 12th century. his spiritual journey led him to join the newly established Franciscan order as a Catholic Priest where his talents were recognized by Saint Francis (the founder of the Franciscans). St. Anthony understood the perils of pride once remarking: "Learn to love humility, for it will cover all your sins. All sins are repulsive before God, but the most repulsive of all is pride of the heart." Despite his apparent reluctance towards public speaking, he taught at the university and was known for his sermons to win lost souls to Christ. For this reason, he is revered as the patron saint of lost items.
