Tim Lahaye

Tim Lahaye, an American author and Baptist evangelical Christian minister, authored more than 85 books, including the popular "Left Behind" Series of apocalyptic fiction novels, which sold almost 80 million copies. He has also written many nonfiction books primarily focused on Biblical prophecy concerning the end times. Tim grew up in Detroit, the son of an auto worker, who died when he was just nine years old. At his father's funeral, the minster sought to console young Tim with the following words: "This is not the end of Frank Lahaye (Tim's dad); because he accepted Jesus Christ, the day will come when the Lord will shout from heaven and descend, and the dead in Christ will rise first and then we'll be caught up together to meet him in the air". LaHaye later mentioned that upon hearing those remarks, "all of a sudden, there was hope in my heart I'd see my father again". Tim LaHaye died on July 25, 2016.
