  • Profession: Motivational Speaker

Zig Ziglar, a famous American author, salesman, and motivational speaker, wrote over 30 books in his lifetime. Yet, his first book, See You at the Top, was rejected 39 times before it was published. It is still in print.  Obviously, Mr. Ziglar is a persistent character.  Yet, apparently not persistent enough to resist a visiting elderly black woman at his home. Reflecting on this encounter, Ziglar shared:  "On July 4, 1972, an elderly black woman named Sister Jessie spent the weekend in our home," Ziglar recalls. "When she got through with me, I had committed my life to Christ. That's when my career exploded." On another note, Ziglar noted how his faith in Jesus provided him the strength to endure the loss of his daughter when he stated: "You know there's an end to it (grief, suffering) ; you just don't know where so you keep going, not in your own strength, but in the strength of Christ."
